Andre
Egle joined Harper | Hayes PLLC in 2008 after practicing law
at two nationally-known litigation boutiques. Andre has
an extensive background in complex commercial litigation. He
has represented businesses in state and federal courts in lawsuits
involving a broad range of claims, including: breach of contract;
legal and accounting malpractice; violation of antitrust and
trade regulations; corporate governance disputes; and violations
of federal and state securities laws. As an example of
Andre’s pre-Harper | Hayes PLLC litigation experience, Andre
was a member of the trial team in a federal antitrust lawsuit
in which the jury, after a four-week trial, awarded Andre’s client
$140,000,000 in compensatory damages.
The current focus of Andre’s practice is insurance coverage litigation. Andre
aggressively advocates to achieve the objectives of his clients in disputes with
their insurance carriers. At the same time, Andre continues to maintain
a strong presence at the firm as a general business litigator.
Prior to engaging in the private practice of law, Andre served as a law clerk
to the Honorable John C. Coughenour, United States District Judge for the Western
District of Washington. Andre’s in-depth knowledge of federal trial court
procedure adds particular strength to the firm’s federal court practice.

Representative Cases
United National Insurance Company v. The Park at North
Creek Homeowners Association, et al. Andre defended a declarant
LLC of a conversion condominium project in a federal declaratory judgment
lawsuit brought by one of its insurers. Andre’s adversary asked
the court to declare that the insurer owed no duty to defend and indemnify
the LLC against the underlying claims for breach of contract, breach
of fiduciary duties, and violation of the Washington Condominium Act. Andre
succeeded in obtaining a court order staying the federal action pending
the outcome of the underlying state court lawsuit. The case settled
on terms favorable to Andre’s client after the order of stay.
REIT v. Insurance Company, et al.
Andre represents one of the largest publicly-traded owners and operators
of multifamily housing in the United States in a multi-party insurance
coverage dispute arising out of five construction defect lawsuits
currently pending in Washington state courts.
Plaintiff v. Technology Company
Andre is currently defending one of the world’s largest technology
companies in a federal lawsuit involving alleged copyright infringement.
